"When I found out my 3-year-old had leukemia, my life came crashing down," recalls Amneris Rivera, whose daughter, Jelien, got her wish granted at GKTW in 2021 after finishing two years of therapy. "We can't say enough good things about the Village. My heart hurt with sheer excitement from the volunteers' grins to the ice cream for breakfast and all of the activities. We all fell in love, and the kids wanted they could stay there indefinitely. It's difficult to put into words how we felt; the Village is a dream inside a dream, and we are eternally thankful for that amazing experience."
